Street Photography

Saturday 26 July
Swansea City Centre - 10am - 2 Hours
Paul Rees
People, cafes, vendors, street merchants, buskers, historic buildings, art installations and much more. The power of observation underpins the art of great street photography. Learning to "see" interesting detail is a practised skill and we introduce you to easy methods that will open your photographer's eye and expose you to a world that is alive with detail. The most rewarding part of the class is learning how to approach interesting people and have them willingly pose for you.

We will also go over settings, focusing techniques and lens choices common to street photography to help us capture those random chance encounters.

Really enjoyed this event. Level wise it was judged right and taught principles in a very practical way which I found more helpful than traditional classroom learning. Learnt some useful tips and techniques that I will practise going forwards.

Picture was taken using a Samsung S22 ultra phone whilst having a coffee near the weekly outdoor market. I happened to look up and spotted how interesting the building and tree looked. I only had to position myself a bit to get the best angle.

Hi. I came into Pennard and walked towards Sandy lane, then over the golf course to the Castle. I wanted to take a few landscape shots but wanted something different. With my interest in abstact street photography I decided to shoot the landscape through the "window" of the castle.

I've made multiple attempts at this picture trying to make something suitable for a wall art panoramic. My first few chances it did not have enough pixels. So when I was lucky enough to go for work I walked the 3 miles to try it again. I was fortunate to have the sun break through and create two different rainbows and a fantastic scene for all. I sat there for 2 hours hours capturing the same image in different phases of the evening and this is my favorite as it highlights the red, white and
